SlashZero Character Tier List

This is a demo ranking. SlashZero’s full launch is still Spring 2027. The Steam and PS5 test runs 3–23 September 2026 and wipes saves when it closes. We are scoring three Timehackers — Nyx, Fina, and Hamlet — on how they play that window, not on a fantasy of launch balance.

The letters are S, A, and B. There is no C because there are only three kits and none of them is unplayable. There are no DPS columns because Streetlamp has not published damage formulas, and Blessings already rewrite a kit mid-loop. If a chart shows Nyx at 12,400 and Fina at 11,900, it is fan fiction. We rank mobility, range, and unlock cost, then we send you to the build tier list for the board you actually stack.

How the letters are earned

Mobility. SlashZero is a side-scrolling action roguelike that lives in the air as much as on the floor. Train roofs, jungle launches, collapsing rooftops — the fighter who gets there first and stays in the juggle is the fighter the demo keeps testing. Previews already called Nyx the fastest of the starting pair in air and on ground. That still holds.

Range. Mid-range guns let you read a dragon spit. Dual blades do not. A folding shield does not. Range is not automatically better; it is a different exam. Fina scores here. Nyx scores in contact time. Hamlet scores when the exam is “too many bodies in a doorway.”

Unlock cost. Nyx and Fina are free on boot. Hamlet needs a completed loop, Rui at the Fortune Chip, and timeline story flags. A kit you cannot select on day one cannot sit in S for a time-limited demo, even if his sword feels great on day four. The unlock steps live on how to unlock Hamlet, not in this table.

Shared combat — normals, specials, ultimates, dash, aerial juggles, Blessings — is assumed. If you cannot dash, every letter is a lie. Fix that on the controls guide first.

S — Nyx

Nyx is the male dual-blade assassin and the demo’s default close-range answer. He is unlocked immediately. He is the fastest mover. He has throwing knives so a gap does not brick the kit, but the kit still wants to be in someone’s face. Train fights, vertical jungles, and any stage that punishes a slow gunner are his argument for S.

He is not S because he is “easy.” He eats chip damage by design. He drops juggles if your dash is an escape instead of a re-entry. He is S because SlashZero’s stages keep asking the mobility question, and he is the answer you can pick before you have ever met Rui.

Flame and Wind boards like him. Fate covers the chip. Details sit on his page and on the build tier list. Do not put him in S in your head and then play him like a turret.

A — Fina

Fina is the female blue-hair gunner with dual firearms and energy beams. She is also unlocked on boot, which is why she is not in B. She loses the mobility exam to Nyx and wins the spacing exam against both other kits. Official shots of rooftop twin beams and the acid-spitting dragon hall are her thesis: hold a pocket, shoot while airborne, leave before the slam.

A is not a scolding. For a first loop, Fina is often the kinder Timehacker. She makes Sector 7, camp habits, and boss tells readable. She also plants wet and cold for Thunder more honestly than a blade user who has to kiss the target to apply a state. The demo still rewards the fastest mover often enough that she sits under Nyx instead of beside him.

If your deaths are all melee greed, stay in A and stop rerolling to Nyx as a personality fix. If your deaths are all “I could not reach the launch,” go to S on purpose. Her full matchup notes, including secret bosses, are on her page.

B — Hamlet

Hamlet is the stage robot with a longsword and a reconfigurable shield. Close-range groups are his job. Interiors with packed adds are where he feels like a missing starter. He is in B because the demo is a clock and he is late to it.

Unlock cost is the first penalty. You spend a whole Nyx or Fina loop, then camp time with Rui, then extra flags, before he even exists on select. Mobility is the second penalty. He does not zip a train roof like Nyx. Range is the third: the dragon hall that makes Fina look smart makes Hamlet walk into spit. None of that means the shield is weak. It means the letter is a demo-value grade, not a skill-ceiling grade.

Play him when he is open. Put Flame or Fate on the shield and hold a doorway. Then go back to Nyx or Fina so you still have a starter who can take a movement stage. The Timehackers hub exists so this letter does not become your only Hamlet paragraph.

What would move a letter

Nyx drops if Streetlamp slows his air dashes or adds a Timehacker who matches his movement with safer tools. Fina rises if launch biomes are all wide halls and beam fights. Hamlet rises if the unlock becomes a camp toggle or if group rooms dominate the Spring 2027 route. Infinity of Space and later Authorities can also shuffle the build tier list hard enough that a “worse” body with a better board outplays an S kit. That is another reason this page refuses fake DPS: the board is half the fighter.

Use the letters to pick tonight’s loop, not next year’s main. The demo wipes. The roster will grow. Recheck this page after Streetlamp talks about launch Timehackers, and do not quote a September 2026 S-tier as if it were a patch note.
